Opera first launched MiniPay, a non-custodial stablecoin wallet built on Celo, in September 2023 to make sending and receiving funds easier and more affordable for individuals across the African continent.

Since launch, MiniPay has exceeded 7 million activated wallets throughout Africa, and its growing ecosystem of 15+ Mini apps has surpassed 50 million weekly impressions with 5+ million weekly opens. Users have leveraged Tether’s USDT, Circle’s USDC, and Mento’s cUSD for everyday activities like grocery shopping, charitable giving, utility payment, and much more.

Now, MiniPay is live as a standalone app in 50+ countries, available for download through the iOS App Store and Google Play Store.
